![]() Act I of the opera is set entirely within a church which is enough reason to use St. Seattle Opera Blog Wednesday, FebruThe Genius of French Opera La Marseillaise (Jean Braud, 1880) In honor of Seattle Opera's upcoming premiere of Beatrice and Benedict, today we celebrate French opera (We're singing B&B in English, since our production kicks off Seattle Celebrates Shakespeare but it's a very French opera. The star of this production is Seattle’s iconic St. Verdi's Rigoletto not my choice to see but in Seattle at the time. It is a produced film of the opera set at an iconic Seattle location that makes use of cinematography and a rich soundtrack and soon to be available for streaming. Can he be a leader without being a fighter? Will he ever gain the respect of Marion, his second-in-command? And when the King does return, will Robin and his friends be seen as heroes or outlaws?
